ALWAYS wear your shoes, even if they're just flip flops. Don't make me tell you the story of my sister-in-law who got some funky worm living in her foot from walking around barefoot!!! And the after-story of how painful it was to dig it out of her foot once it had gotten all happily settled up in her foot. What is the "old town" architecture like? I'm sure with the population explosion there is lots of new building....but what is the original city like? I think you may have found a perfect laid back vacation spot maybe worthy of returning to at some point in time. What about the manatees? Did you get to go swimming with them today?
